It is now the task of making sense of all my research; I need to pull together my sketchbook in the following order;
1. Anh Mao research
2. Couture
3. Ready To Wear
4. Trends
5. Own Theme
I need to include drawings, photos, printouts, fabrics, thumbnails, mood pictures, as this sketchbook needs to confirm my story, connecting all the imagery and insuring that it is idiot proof to a complete stranger a task that can prove difficult to portray your own story in the eyes of someone else.
I plan to look at websites like Arts Thread, Pinterest and Polyvore to provide ideas and inspiration on format scale and presentation techniques.
From this I need to produce two mood boards for my portfolio, encapsulating the best pieces of my research as a short story and insight to my theme.
To give my sketchbook a more 3D and visual aesthetic I will also include fabric samplings as I start to consider different processes and techniques.
And finally start to consider the visual aspect of my design work how do I want my illustrations to look....???
This week I think that I have managed to look at so many different things, I have collected so much imagery yet as ever I am yet to pull it together everything is blue tacked down ready for me to decide where everything will go, someone I haven't the ability to do this until every avenue has been looked at and until I have a pile of images and research that may fill a book even though I will most likely not use it all but what the hey, lessons to be learned, but I always feels more is less.
When working through my research I need to start considering and asking myself,
'Are lots of images necessary?’ each page may just incorporate one aspect of the theme i.e. sculptural, form, colour palettes, etc. I need to consider my investigating skills and research skill, simply telling the story of my theme, looking more at drawing from my images and showing my own reflection of what I see.
After scouring the Internet, the endless books and other sources I pulled together my favourite images, to visually represent telling the story of my theme.
