Critique....

Critique 15th September

In today’s crit we looked and evaluated each other’s work. It was noted that I had a good cross section of research communicating a mix of primary and secondary together. I need to look too communicate the aspects I'll be using from the research i.e. what from an image has inspired me and draw this and use this as an idea for design development. I need to include images not only because they relate to the theme but it could also be something that evokes a mood or feeling. I need too draw more from the couture pictures i.e. do I like the silhouette or a certain detail when I put the sketchbook together it needs to tell a story... Use trend magazines like textile view as an idea to gather inspiration on presentation techniques, also fabrics and threads photocopy as sheets, include a range of different scale images to create a good layout.

This week’s list of things to do;

• Need to photocopy from Couture books.
• Need to collate 4 images of both historical and           contemporary couture.
• Current trends for S/S 2011 - I need to pick up the latest copy of Show Details Magazine, great reference on the most up to date images from the catwalk. Also look at other References in the library like Collezioni to identify the key trends for the season.
• Research more into RTW (closest reference to first RTW collections is for, Valentino 1969??!! )
